Rodents, such as rats and house mice cause serious damage to the homes, sheds, and garages throughout the Lowcountry. Rodents are notorious for eating and contaminating food and stored products, but few homeowners are unaware at the amount of damage rodents cause to home and businesses.

 

Rodents have also been known to cause and spread diseases to humans and pets. Rodent proofing is the most important step in controlling rodent infestations. As rodents enter a home they excrete a oil pheromone as they squeeze into an opening which allows more rodents to find the same trail into your home as well. Rodent proofing will close off these openings and help to eliminate future infestations but it's worth mentioning that rodents may chew new entrances or even be carried into a structure in boxes or appliances.
